One of the ways we deliver on that promise is through our patronage program, which allows eligible members to share in the cooperative’s success.
What Is Patronage
As a member of CFE, you may earn patronage based on the amount of eligible business you do with our cooperative throughout the fiscal year. Patronage is one of the unique benefits of cooperative ownership. It allows members to receive a share of the cooperative’s earnings based on their participation. When CFE has a successful year, our members benefit too.

How Membership Works
A CFE membership requires the purchase of one share of common stock valued at $500. To get started, we ask for a minimum initial payment of $100. The remaining balance can be paid over time by applying earned patronage until the full stock value is reached. Once your stock is fully paid, future earned equity is eligible to revolve back to members as approved by CFE’s Board of Directors.

If you’re already doing business with CFE, becoming a member is a great way to maximize the value of your relationship with our cooperative. Membership allows you to participate in our patronage program while investing in a cooperative that is committed to your success. Membership forms received before the end of the fiscal year (August 31, 2026) will revolve back to the beginning of the fiscal year (September 1, 2025). So, you will get credit for all business done with CFE this entire fiscal year.
